Zoning and Land Use

Rees Broome has developed a group within its Litigation Department to represent Virginia landowners (including government entities) in sophisticated land use litigation and transactional work. Each of these areas requires substantial interaction and negotiation between local governments, landowners, condominium associations and developers. Each local government in Virginia in turn employs different land use standards. Our key land use partner is Mark Moorstein, who joined us in 2007, bringing our clients more than 30 years' experience, depth of knowledge and range of creative strategies in dealing with this very specialized area of the law. Mark and his team handle not only land use litigation, but also zoning, subdivision, site planning, vested rights, non-conforming use, development and bonding, as well as governmental condemnation. If you have any questions regarding the practice and Rees Broome's ability to assist you, please contact Mark Moorstein at 571-261-1970.
